Ugly Gerry Font

Ugly Gerry font is a one-of-a-kind display font created by Ben Doessel and James Lee of Leo Burnett Chicago, built entirely from the shapes of real gerrymandered US congressional districts. Each of the 26 uppercase characters is formed by the outline of an actual district whose boundaries have been so contorted by partisan redistricting that they accidentally resemble letters of the alphabet.

Originally launched in 2019 in collaboration with RepresentUs, Ugly Gerry became a viral sensation and even featured as a Jeopardy question — proof that good design can make complex political issues impossible to ignore. Deconstructed Font

Deconstructed by Dang Hoang is a free display geometric font built around the idea of breaking letterforms down to their essential geometry — stripping conventional type conventions back to structural components and reassembling them into something visually distinct and immediately recognizable. Its angular, fragmented aesthetic gives it an expressive, almost graphic-art quality that works powerfully in poster design, editorial headlines, branding, and any context that benefits from type with raw visual energy. A first typeface project released with genuine ambition and an open invitation for future development. Available free for personal use via Gumroad.

Deconstructed is a bold and visually distinctive addition to our free font collection, created by Hanoi-based designer Dang Hoang — a debut type project that already demonstrates a strong and coherent design sensibility. Agrippa Font

Agrippa by Dimitra Makraki is a free experimental display font rooted in one of electronic literature’s most provocative objects — William Gibson’s 1992 artist’s book Agrippa (A Book of the Dead), a poem programmed to encrypt itself after a single reading, its pages treated to fade on exposure to light. Makraki’s typeface transforms this concept into a typographic experience: when the user types Gibson’s poem, the text dissolves into a ligature, enacting the disappearance it describes. Beyond its conceptual dimension, Agrippa is a genuinely distinctive display typeface with real typographic character. Available free with a standard commercial license.

Agrippa is one of the most conceptually rich additions to our free font collection, created by Athens-based designer Dimitra Makraki — a type designer whose work engages with literary theory and the philosophy of text in ways that are rare in type design. Browse our full library of free fonts and discover more distinctive typefaces crafted by independent designers around the world.

Grofet Font

Grofet by Drizy Font is a cutting-edge experimental modern display typeface that pushes traditional design logic aside in favour of bold typographic invention. Its avant-garde construction blends modern aesthetics with an experimental twist — letterforms that feel simultaneously contemporary and genuinely surprising, generating a visual energy that is hard to replicate with more conventional type. Uppercase and lowercase characters, multilingual support, alternates, and ligatures give it the practical depth to support serious professional use alongside the kind of projects that exist specifically to challenge visual conventions. A free demo version is available for personal use.

Grofet is an experimental modern display typeface in our free font collection, from Drizy Font — an Indonesia-based creative type studio with a consistent record of producing avant-garde typefaces that push the visual and conceptual boundaries of contemporary display typography.
